The British Curry Industry has been hosting the Annual British Curry Awards to honour the best restaurants in Britain. Indian Food is extremely popular in the UK and the awards were only a natural next step. The awards recognize the best restaurants from various regions in the UK selecting a winner for each region and a list of nominees are also recognized. The winners are group into the following categories
The event also recognizes the Newcomer of the Year and also the most Innovative restaurant. The winner and runners-up of the 2008 event are listed below.
